We were away on Vacation. My friends from England were on Holiday. We went to the beach. I thought the song by The Kooks, Seaside, was a good song to cut photos into video. I'm now gonna get back to getting this show on the road.
Performed in "the cave" outside NYC. Again, I wrote the music and my friend Ken came up with the words right on the spot as this vidio tape rolled, the only lighting came from a TV. The atoms that appear in the video arrived one late night on my TV so I recorded them as they made their patterns.
I had this dark piece of music I wrote and my friend Ken, he can like do "spoken word" on the spot; he just goes for it. I told him, "re-live the O J trial." This is what we came up with. Lots of cuts.
Footage of Jilleyn rearranged, then slow-mo'd to go with a love song that has a certain twist. It's my response to Directorian's astute reply to "Talking 'bout Boys." Thanks Ian for placing the first piece of the DeSkToPsToRy puzzle. Here's another, um... we'll worry about the order later, lol, but this is working. Can't wait to see your return.
Shot this on 16 mm, cut it on a flatbed, all-nighter, came up with the song down in a SOHO loft space, sort of made up the words as I sang them... harmonica played by Rosanne, she had never played before but was into performance art, Mitch on guitar, he came in from Nashville, anyway, I just wanted to contrast the city and the country... the old fashioned way, with film.
The song is called Multiple Screen Names, it's from Desktop Story, Listen to the words. Thanks to Alison for singing and Rusty for spoken word. I put in cuts of some of my friends. I just couldn't do everyone. Hope you like the fireworks.
Another song from the Musical DeSkToPsToRy performed by 2 time Tony nominated Alison Fraser, at the West Bank, NYC. I wrote it, she sang it, and i made her lip sink before she went on stage to do her regular act.
i wrote this song on the guitar, then a friend got some one to play piano on it, then another friend orchestrated it, the 2 other friends came into the studio and sang it. I love the process. I shot the video last fall. Hope you like it. Big file. Let it load, then watch.
I love Jilleyn, she did this dance for me, she lives in Kentucky.
Okay, it's a rough cut, I'm gonna clean it up, add more carnival cruising, lights, and cuts, but i put it up for a friend to check out the song.
Me with the guitar and random shots of friends that have put in time and talent working on DeSkToPsToRy... thank you... and listen, you are invited to come aboard too. The process online... you won't believe what we are doing. And we are making history.
She has been singing some songs we are trying out for the show. If you have any ideas, You are welcome to take part in creating "it all." If ya sing, or dance, or act...even in the slightest, give it a try. Or hey, just do a video in interview format and send it my way.
