Swift hang glider featured on "Beyond 2000" TV show. This was filmed in 1992 and the Swift aircraft are the first 2 composite prototypes. They do not feature the final form of the pilot fairing.
Research project at Stanford University sponsored by NASA Ames. This is a small-scale version of a 400 passenger SST that would cruise at Mach 1.8 and fly from LA to Tokyo for the same ticket price as a Boeing 747. Model is 20 ft span, 80 lb, computer stabilized, ducted fan powered. First flight May 10, 1994. RC used for guidance, model is unstable in pitch open-loop.
A research project from 1987. A statically unstable tailless aircraft (7% static instability) with on-board computer stabilization. Uses only trailing edge flaps for control. This work is quaint by today's standards, but very interesting in 1987.
A short video of the action at the 2007 world meet in Big Spring TX. From the Dragonfly tug of Bobby Bailey and Randee Azzar. Check out the windmills at the end!
1997 CR 125 converted to electric power. Initial tests use sealed lead acid batteries (not full design voltage yet). Eventually, batteries will be upgraded to lithium.
Larger vehicle with approx 70 lb weight and custom flight control system. Initial flight test is hovering with attitude stabilization (only). Hover Position control will come next.
