We caught a demo of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1's panels interface at work, and it's really cool. It is worth noting that this software is very, very early, and that it will run more smoothly when the device is ready to be released.

The device shall be released in the second half of 2008 and runs Microsoft Windows Mobile with a panel-flow-style thingy that reminds us of Apple's coverflow technique.

When Sony Ericsson first unveiled the Xperia X1, the company was somewhat hampered by the fact that this smartphone will run a version of Windows Mobile that had not yet been officially announced at that time. This has now changed, and it is now allowed to show off this device in all its glory.
