Paleontologists study ancient life forms.
First, our Paleontologist needs to study the anatomy of present-day animals: birds, mammals, reptiles, fish. To see what an animal was like, and how it lived, she studies its bones.
Second, she needs to study Geology (rocks) so that she understands the various layers of rocks and what periods in ancient times they represent.
A researcher and professor at Beijing's Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xu Xing has unearthed important dinosaur fossils at some of China's most significant excavation sites. He has named 11 new dinosaur species, including 3 feathered specimens that have challenged the conventional wisdom on what dinosaurs looked like.
