On May 28 in the late morning hours a supercell formed above Luxembourg, moved along the Belgian-German border and crossed the town of Moenchengladbach at 11 a.m. There was a rainfall of about 50 litres / square meter in less than an hour. There were about 10 minutes of almost complete darkness which was very unusual and eerie caused by those towering clouds reaching up to 13 km.
